Choosing Your Facial Cleanser
There is a tremendous variety of facial cleansers on the market today. With dermatologists recommending soap-free cleansers, you are still left with a wide range of choices, including whether to opt for bars or liquid. You might even be interested in cleansing pads.
Citrix Antioxidant Cleansing Pads are made from purified water, green tea and citrus extracts, as well as a variety of other ingredients, and are designed to provide a simple way of cleansing the skin. Each tub of sixty pads can be purchased for under $25.
Those of you looking to try a cleansing bar might be interested in the Neutral Cleansing Bar from DCL. This product restores the skin's delicate pH levels while removing dirt and oil. A 3.5 ounce bar sells for $4. Dry skin sufferers might be particularly interested in Stiefel's ZNP Bar, a medicated cleansing bar designed to relieve the itching, irritation and flakiness associated with seborrheic dermatitis, a disease that causes flaking of the skin. The rich lathering formula produced by the ZNP bar not only acts as a facial cleanser, but may also be used as a shampoo to relieve the itching and flaking of the scalp that is often associated with dandruff. A 4.2 ounce bar can be purchased for under $8.
If you are interested in trying a liquid facial cleanser, you might consider Cellex-C's Betaplex Gentle Cleansing Milk, which combines lemongrass, chamomile and ginseng extracts, as well as sunflower seed oil, lactic acid and a variety of other ingredients in order to remove debris from the skin and reveal a fresher complexion. A 180 ml bottle sells for under $25.
If you are having trouble choosing a facial cleanser, consult your dermatologist. He or she will help you find a product that is best suited for you--one that preserves your skin's natural oils while fighting daily dirt and debris.
