Proactive Skin Care
The Proactiv Solution 3-Step System was developed in 1995 by two Stanford University-trained dermatologists named Katie Rodan and Kathy Fields. The Proactiv System has been advertised extensively via a series of 30-minute television infomercials on networks such as CNBC, FX, Lifetime and The Family Channel.
Product Line
The three steps in the Proactiv System are:
- Renewing Cleanser -- An oil-free facial scrub containing smooth, tiny grains which gently exfoliate dead skin cells and other impurities. Prescription-grade benzoyl peroxide penetrates pores, attacks bacteria and heals blemishes quickly.
- Revitalizing Toner -- A refreshing, alcohol-free toner which removes dead skin cells, opens pores and removes excess oil to refresh the skin and improve its appearance. Includes soothing botanical agents to gently balance the skin's tone.
- Repairing Lotion -- A light, oil-free lotion containing prescription-grade benzoyl peroxide to heal blackheads and blemishes. Helps prevent future breakouts.
The 3-part system includes a bonus tube of Refining Mask and an illustrated "Face The Facts" guide on acne prevention and treatment. Expanded four-part systems include Daily Oil Control lotion in the Oil Control System, and Oil-Free Moisture with SPF 15 in the Moisture System. Both of these additional items are included with the five-piece Deluxe System.
