Skin Care Products
There are a record number of skin care products on the market today, all designed to help you look and feel your best. However, while they do share a common goal, these products often vary greatly in terms of function and capability. For instance, some skin care products are designed to fight acne while others are designed to combat lines and wrinkles. Below you will find a guide to some of the most common types of skin care products available today.
Acne Products
Acne is an inflammatory disease of the skin's sebaceous glands and hair follicles, which is indicated by the eruption of pimples. Unfortunately, these pimples are most typically found on the most visible part of the body – the face. The good news is that there are multitudes of skin care products designed to fight the presence of acne. You might try a purifying mask, which helps control breakouts and oiliness while at the same time tightening pores and hydrating the skin. A two-ounce tub of this mask can generally be purchased for under $25.
There are also a variety of facial cleansers on the market that are specifically designed to treat acne. Some are intended for dry, acne-prone skin and will actually condition and moisturize the face while fighting bacteria. Other cleansers are designed to exfoliate and may be more acidic. Prices vary, but a six- or seven-ounce bottle of cleanser can typically be purchased for under $25.
Other valuable acne-fighting products include benzoyl peroxide gels, oil control gels, toners and spot treatment formulas.
